Travel Guide: Seattle, Washington
Eat/Drink
Walrus & The Carpenter - the BEST place to get oysters in Seattle. It's very popular, so get there early and put your name down, and go next door to Barnacle Bar.
The Whale Wins - more yummy seafood! Also, owned by the same people as Walrus & The Carpenter + Barnacle Bar.
Taylor Shellfish Farms - if you love oysters (like me) I highly recommend this place! This was our first stop and fell in love!
Top Pot Doughnuts - I heard how popular this place was, so naturally I went and got a dozen doughnuts and some coffee! They have locations all over WA.
Li'l Woody's - Y'ALL. These burgers were AMAZING. And I got a sprite in a glass bottle. AND I got a "milkshake cup" for dipping my fries in.
Anchored Ship Coffee Bar - the cutest little place to grab your afternoon latte.
Cupcake Royale - all the yummy cupcakes!
Volunteer Park Cafe - yummy breakfast & lunch and Sunday suppers once a month.
Fremont Brewing - I love drinking and I love trying new beer, and this place was fun and near the water. And right down the street from the Fremont Troll.
Shop/See
Space Needle, Chihuly Garden and Glass, Museum of Pop Culture - all of these things are awesome and touristy and a MUST for your trip to Seattle. Buy a city pass and save money and go to all 3!
Pike Place Market - (duh). If you are coming to Seattle, this place is a given! Shops, markets, food, drinks, and flowers, etc. The original Starbucks is also across the street!
Kerry Park - this is hands down the best view of Seattle. Not much of a park, but perfect for a view + some amazing pictures!
Ballard - this area of Seattle was my favorite. You can walk around and shop + drink, and can also head over the locks (and possibly catch a seal swimming around)!
Moorea Seal - a very unique shop with the cutest things. You'll want to buy everything!
Horseshoe, Indie Frock, Tides & Pines - the cutest boutiques in Ballard.
The Palm Room - the coolest plant store!!! Everything is so green and happy and I loved it.
Lucca - a fun giftshop!
Venue - this place is a shop for artists to sell their work, all sorts of gifts + art!
Adventure
Stevens Pass Resort - we took a day trip here to go skiing and it was GOREGOUS. We got 25 inches of snow that morning. If you make a trip out of it, go to Leavenworth too!
Snoqualmie Falls - this waterfall is a must for your trip to Seattle, super popular but it's worth it. We went to the Salish Lodge for lunch and had a view of the waterfall!
Rattlesnake Ledge - this is a short drive from Snoqualmie Falls. There are many different hikes to choose from, or you can go hang out by the lake like I did!
Kayaking in Lake Union - we didn't get to do this because we came in the winter, but I would highly recommend this!
Whale Watching - such a unique and cool experience!
Diablo Lake - this is a crystal blue lake and it is GORGEOUS. The roads are blocked off in winter, so make sure you go in the spring/summer!
